Our wonderful mare Ready to Schipp resumed at the Gold Coast (16/5/26) and what a return it was. Despite being uncharacteristically slow away, she quickly found her rhythm, travelled beautifully throughout and stalked the speed like the class horse she is.

Turning for home, she let down strongly ad what followed was a thrilling two-horse duel down the straight. Neck and neck the entire way, but our tough girl dug deep and refused to be denied, holding on bravely for victory.

A top ride from Ben Osmond and full credit to Toby Edmonds for having her cherry ripe for her return.She was terrific last prep, and all signs suggest we’re in for another exciting campaign ahead.

Congratulations to all her owners ! Plenty to look forward to with this mare. Follow her !

The Playwright sells at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $675,000

BREEDNET ARTICLE EXCERPT: A modest Magic Millions Book 2 purchase for just $60,000 for Tricolours Racing Syndications, Written By filly The Playwright has taken her all-ladies group of owners on the ride of a lifetime and sold at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale on Thursday for $675,000 in the Newgate Consignment.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, she proved a fast and precocious juvenile, just like her sire Written By, and won the Group III ATC Widden Stakes as well as placing fourth in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Cosmic Avenger wins $80,000 MTC Guineas !

BREEDNET ARTICLE EXCERPT: The Wagga Gold Cup carnival features numerous highlight races including the $80,000 MTC Guineas (1600m) for three year-olds with victory on Friday going to Cosmic Force gelding Cosmic Avenger.

Trained in Sydney by John Sargent, Cosmic Avenger has been in top form this year with wins at Hawkesbury and Newcastle earning him top weight of 60kg.

Given a patient ride by Tommy Berry, Cosmic Avenger let down with a big finish to win by three-quarters of a length.

Artistic Venture topped off an amazing day at Kembla (30th Aug) for Team Tricolours, alsolutely destroying them in the last race of the day for Keegan Latham and John O'Shea / Tom Charlton.

A terrific win from our very promising filly Autumn Blonde today at Kembla (30th Aug) for John Sargent and Mitch Stapleford.  She's on her way now and will have some big race targets on the horizon..  

Vetwelve brought up his second win this prep for John Sargent in impressive fashion at Kembla in a Class 1 Handicap over 1300m with  Mitch Stapleford giving him a great ride with soft hands

BREEDNET ARTICLE BY TARA MADGWICK: Spring racing is just around the corner and a busy set of trials at Randwick on Friday featured eight heats won by juveniles with winners including stakes horse The Playwright.

Vetwelve was able to land the first win of his career today at Wyong (24th June) over 1350m for John Sargent.  Given a terrific ride by Molly Burke, it was wonderful to see him break through for this much-deserved victory as he has been racing very competitively and finished in the placings a number of times.
