King Nic scored an impressive win at Wyong on Wyong Cup Day for Mitch Beer and Tommy Berry. Mitch has put a lot of time and work into the development of King Nic, and "The King" (as he is affectionately known) has really started to mature and furnish into a lovely race horse. Landing this breakthrough win allows a lot more options to open up for him now, and he is definitely one to follow. BREEDNET ARTICLE: At the start of spring there is a plethora of talented 3YO’s all trying to get on the board with a win to hopefully progress to stakes class and at Kembla on Saturday we saw three well-bred maiden winners that would all have designs on Black Type.The John Sargent trained filly Autumn Blonde was competitive in her juvenile season against some very good fillies with a fourth in the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes to Within the Law indicating stakes potential. By The Autumn Sun, who is renowned for his 3YO fillies, Autumn Blonde is a big robust filly that has always given the impression a longer trip would suit. A terrific win from our very promising filly Autumn Blonde today at Kembla (30th Aug) for John Sargent and Mitch Stapleford. She's on her way now and will have some big race targets on the horizon.. She's shown a stack of ability since the get go, and she is now furnishing into a lovely racehorse. VETWELVE TOO GOOD AT KEMBLA !
Vetwelve brought up his second win this prep for John Sargent in impressive fashion at Kembla in a Class 1 Handicap over 1300m with Mitch Stapleford giving him a great ride with soft hands He is such a nice horse going forward. There has never been any doubt abut his talent, but he missed half of the first part of his career when he needed to be re-educated. So it's been a bit of a journey to get to this point, and his ownership group have been very patient. VETWELVE WINS AT WYONG !
Vetwelve was able to land the first win of his career today at Wyong (24th June) over 1350m for John Sargent. Given a terrific ride by Molly Burke, it was wonderful to see him break through for this much-deserved victory as he has been racing very competitively and finished in the placings a number of times. Big congratulations to all his connections who have been very patient with this 3yo gelding by Grunt out of Catwalk Kitty.
