Absolutely Electric !!! Elettrica breaks through for 1st Australian win
Sun, Aug 27, 2023
5 year old race-mare Elettrica finally scores a much deserved win at Randwick (26th Aug) for Richard and Will Freedman, at her first attempt over the 1800m. Jockey Jason Collett was able to peel off the fence in the straight at just the right time and she proved far too strong in the closing stages on a very impressive win.
The much-loved mare, who was purchased as a tried race filly from New Zealand around 18 months ago by Tricolours Racing has been racing in great heart but kept finding bad luck. "This win has been a long time coming, it means such a lot to see her finally break through in Australia for her wonderful ownership group" said Tricolours Racing Director James Moss. "Her ownership group have been very patient and supportive, and they are absolutely delighted. She really deserves this win. Full credit to Richard and Will Freedman, who have done an incredible job with her".
The team will make a decision over the coming days whether she goes on to other race start or is tipped out for a spell.
