Winning return for Rotorua !
After a long absence from the track, talented 4 year old Star Witness mare Rotorua returned to the races in fine style with a commanding victory over 1200m at Kembla (12th Oct) for Richard and Will Freedman. Jockey Tyler Schiller was able to settle near the back of the field and then on the home turn found clear running wide and with a quick turn of foot Rotorua was able to charge home for a superb victory.

"What a brilliant return to the races, we thought she would go well but to be fair - wasn't quite expecting that today first-up given how long it has been since she last raced" said James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing. "She had a minor injury setback early this year which required surgery and rehab, she recovered really well, we took our time with her - and she comes out and does that today. The Freedmans have done a fantastic job and we are really looking forward to the prep ahead".

Rotorua was previously with Mark Newhnam but was transferred to Richard and Will Freedman during her spell when Newnham relocated to Hong Kong.

Richard and Will are currently mapping out a plan for Rotorua with a few options on the cards for her next start.
