Smokeshow Takes Out The Inaugural Single Gaze At Canberra
Smokeshow Takes Out The Inaugural Single Gaze At Canberra
Smokeshow returned to the winners circle at Canberra on Saturday after taking out the $50,000 The Single Gaze for the Fillies and Mares over 1200m. The race named after Group 1 winning locally trained mare Single Gaze was sponsored by Canberra business Affinity Electrical.

It was a rewarding win for her ownership group and trainer Danielle Seib after a interrupted preparation marred with setbacks and wide barriers.  The 5YO daughter of Winning Rupert was having her 14th career start when notching up her 4th win, taking her total prizemoney pool to $139,705.

Smokeshow jumped well from barrier 5 and settled nicely just behind the pace in the field of 7 runners for jockey Shaun Guymer. She travelled well around the home turn and let down with a strong finish down the outside to nab race favourite Yendy on the post.

"It was a good effort from the mare, she knuckled down when I asked her and showed good fight in the finish" commented Guymer after the win.

Congratulations to her owners J E Abrahams Pty Ltd, B & Me syndicate, Mr W S Simpson, Mrs K R Baker, Mr P Baker, Lotave syndicate, Thug Thoroughbreds syndicate, Mr M E J Mcintyre, Mr N R Blizard, Mr S J Brown, Mr L D Lavender and Mr J G Codner.
