Manuscript bolts in to break his Maiden

Manuscript claimed his first victory in style at Wyong on November 9, 2024, winning the 1000m maiden in impressive fashion. The 3-year-old gelding, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and ridden by Jean Van Overmeier, controlled the tempo from the outset, before unleashing a strong finishing burst in the final 200m to win by a widening 3 lengths. It was a well-deserved breakthrough after a long injury lay off, showcasing his growing maturity and ability.

Jockey Jean Van Overmeire took bad luck out of the equation, allowing the gelding to find his rhythm before asking for his best effort. Tricolours Director, James Moss, couldn't have been more pleased for his owners. "He really deserved that win. He showed amazing potential as a 2yr old, but was injured at his only start. He should really be undefeated. His owners have been very supportive and patient in allowing us to manage his return to the races, so hopefully now they will continue to be rewarded".

The victory will see the horse likely to target more competitive races this summer. But at this stage, being a gelding, he can work through the grades.
