Racehorse Syndication with

Chris & Corey Munce

Chris & Corey Munce

After a triumphant career in the saddle, the time was right for Chris Munce to transition into a new role — training

thoroughbred racehorses. Fuelled by a profound love for horses, guiding them from their early days as yearlings to

seasoned racehorses became Chris’s calling.

About Chris & Corey Munce

Chris Munce is one of only seven jockeys in history to have won Australia’s “Big Four” — the Melbourne Cup, Cox

Plate, Caulfield Cup and Golden Slipper. Across a 29-year riding career, he recorded more than 40 Group 1 wins

and over 2,500 winners overall, including five Brisbane jockeys’ premierships. He rode as stable jockey for some of

Australia’s greatest training operations, including Gai Waterhouse and Bart Cummings, before retiring from the

saddle at the 2015 Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.

Chris now trains from Queensland’s premier training complex at Eagle Farm, where Munce Racing has already

tasted feature-race success with horses including Boomsara (Magic Millions 3YO Guineas winner) and Ours to

Keep. In 2024, Chris took his son Corey on board as a training partner, as the stable continues building on its strong

recent momentum.

Chris and Corey will be training one of Tricolours’ recent Magic Millions purchases — an outstanding gelding called Pinot Pirate.
