What is Racehorse Syndication?
Racehorse syndication is simply a group of people who each own a percentage share in a thoroughbred racehorse. Instead of shouldering the entire cost of buying and training a horse yourself, syndication splits those costs among multiple owners, making racehorse ownership genuinely accessible.
At Tricolours Racing, syndication shares start at 2.5%, meaning you can become a registered owner of a thoroughbred racehorse trained by some of Australia's best trainers — for a fraction of what full ownership would cost.
All running costs — training fees, vet bills, nominations, insurance and more — are shared proportionally among syndicate members. Every month you receive a single, clearly itemised statement. No surprises. No confusion.

Carefully selected horses, not a production line
Each year, our team — led by James Moss — hand-picks a small selection of high-quality yearlings. Months of research, bloodline analysis and on-the-ground assessment go into every decision. Our focus is always on quality, never quantity.
We partner with some of Australia's leading trainers who are actively involved in the yearling selection process — so the horses that come into the Tricolours stable have the right minds behind them from day one.
Race-day access that makes ownership feel real
Shares of 5% or more include full race-day privileges: track entry, members area access, mounting yard access, and the chance to meet the jockey and chat with the trainer on race day. There's nothing quite like watching your horse stride into the mounting yard knowing you own a piece of it.
For all owners regardless of share size, Tricolours organises regular race-day events so every member of the syndicate can come together, celebrate, and be part of the moment.
One simple monthly statement — we handle the rest
Tricolours pays all suppliers directly. You don't receive multiple confusing bills from different service providers. You receive one clear, itemised monthly account. Management fees are $50/month (incl. GST) for shares of 5% and above, or $40/month for smaller shares.
Prize money goes straight to you — directly from Racing NSW into your bank account.
A genuine commitment to horse welfare
In 2020, Tricolours established the Tricolours Racing Horse Welfare Trust Fund. $2,500 from every horse purchase is placed into this trust — dedicated to re-homing, re-training and caring for our horses once their racing careers are over. When you join a Tricolours syndicate, you're not just an owner for the racing career — you're part of a community that looks after the horse for life.

1. Choose your horse
Browse our current ownership opportunities and find a horse that excites you. Each horse comes with a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) outlining all costs, trainer details, bloodlines and projections. No hidden information.

2. Select your share
Shares start at 2.5%. Choose the percentage that suits your budget. Your monthly training cost is proportional — a 2.5% share averages approximately $125 per month.

3. Join the syndicate and follow the journey
Once your share is confirmed, you're a registered thoroughbred owner. You'll receive regular updates — photos, videos, stable visits — and be part of the Tricolours family from day one all the way to race day.

Where our horses train and race:
Horse Syndicates in Sydney, NSW & Queensland
Tricolours Racing is based in Sydney, and many of our horses are trained and race in New South Wales, with others trained in Queensland. As an owner of a NSW-trained horse, you're registered with Racing NSW, your share of prize money is paid to you directly, and your race-day privileges apply at Sydney's metropolitan tracks as well as provincial and country meetings.
Randwick
Royal Randwick is Sydney's headline racecourse and home to The Everest and some of the biggest days of the Autumn Carnival. Our horses trained by Michael Freedman , John Sargent and John O’Shea and Tom Charlton are prepared at Randwick, so owners in those syndicates can get to stable visits and open days close to the city.
Rosehill
Rosehill Gardens in Sydney's west hosts the Golden Slipper and a strong Saturday program throughout the year. Owners with shares of 5% or more get members area and mounting yard access on race day. Our Trainers, Richard & Will Freedman also are based at Rosehill.
Kembla Grange
Kembla Grange, in the Illawarra south of Sydney, is a busy provincial training and racing centre. Our horses trained by Kerry Parker and by Mitch Beer and George Carpenter of Beer Carpenter Racing are prepared there, giving owners well-established stables within easy reach of Sydney.
Newcastle
Newcastle's Broadmeadow racecourse is the Hunter's racing hub and home of the Newcastle Cup. Our horses trained by Nathan Doyle are based in Newcastle, giving owners in the Hunter a stable close to home.
Gold Coast
The Gold Coast Turf Club at Bundall is home to the Magic Millions raceday each January, one of the richest days on the Australian racing calendar. Our horses trained by Toby Edmonds are prepared on the Gold Coast, giving owners in south-east Queensland a stable close to home.
Eagle Farm
Eagle Farm is Brisbane's premier racecourse and the centrepiece of Queensland's winter carnival. Our horses trained by Chris & Corey Munce are based there, giving owners in Brisbane a stable close to home.
