With facilities in both Sydney and Melbourne, this is a partnership formed in 2016 between Gai Waterhouse —
daughter of racing legend T.J. Smith — and Adrian Bott, who grew up in the racing world and has built a highly
respected name in the industry in his own right.
About Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott
Gai and Adrian are consistently ranked amongst the top trainers in Australia, both by strike rate (across NSW and
Victoria) and by prizemoney earned. Gai has trained over 130 Group 1 winners, including 7 Golden Slippers —
among them Farnan, trained in partnership with Adrian. Her career record also includes 8 Metropolitan Handicaps,
9 Flight Stakes, and a Melbourne Cup.
Gai Waterhouse AO was granted her own Australian Jockey Club training licence in January 1992 and was inducted
into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2021, she was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for her
services to the thoroughbred industry.
