About Mitchell Beer & George Carpenter
Mitch Beer was born into racing and has had the bug for the sport from an early age. He started his professional life with thoroughbreds at 16, working for the powerful Lloyd Williams operation at Flemington, before stepping up to stable foreman for astute trainer Russell Cameron, also at Flemington. He then moved to Mornington as Assistant Trainer to Jason Warren — a stable that produced Group 1 winner Bel Sprinter, with Mitch playing a role in the horse's 2013 Group 1 Galaxy win in Sydney.
Mitch gained his own trainer's licence in November 2015, partnering with revered horseman Max Hinton before moving out on his own. In 2018 he relocated from Mornington to Albury, identifying the potential in a border-town base, and in 2023 expanded into Kembla Grange, NSW — taking the stable from a country yard to a provincial operation. The stable's strike rate more than doubled in the first six months of the move.
George Carpenter joined as co-trainer in August 2025, bringing years of experience across leading Queensland stables, where he built a strong reputation for horsemanship and attention to detail, having previously trained his own small team out of Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. The pair's first runner together, Greyt Thinker, won at Hawkesbury on 25 September, and Beer Carpenter Racing went on to lead both the Local and All Trainers' premierships at Kembla Grange in their first season as a duo. As co-trainer, George plays a central role in the day-to-day management of the stable — overseeing training programs, race planning, and communication with owners.
